VA Senior Care in Miami

According to the United States Census, Veterans aged 65 years or older numbered more than 12.4 million. After having proudly served our country in conflicts such as World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and the Persian Gulf War, many elderly Veterans are now located in the greater Miami-Dade area. The Department of Veterans Affairs, or VA, provides benefits or services that address a variety of issues, including the changing health risks that they face.

At Advancare, our team of professional senior caregivers provides VA senior care in Miami. Our home care services are for both Veterans and non-Veterans, and we are happy to explain how you can use your VA benefits for our services.

How Caregivers Can Help Veterans in Miami

As they age, Veterans face the same health issues as any other senior in the greater Miami-Dade area. If you have a loved one who is a Veteran and prefers to age in their home, rather than moving to a dedicated care facility, our in-home caregivers can help with a variety of different needs. Many Veterans suffer from illness or chronic conditions but still wish to retain the comfort and familiarity that their home brings. Often, the burden of care will fall on family members, many of whom already lead busy lives.

We know that the decision to hand off the care of the elderly Veteran in your family is a difficult one to make. At Advancare, our caregivers will work with both the Veteran and their family to ensure that they receive the best-personalized care possible. Here are some of the in-home care services that we provide:

  • Alzheimer’s and dementia care
  • Bathing and grooming
  • Assistance with bill paying
  • Light housekeeping
  • Meal planning and preparation
  • Running errands
  • Caring companionship
  • Supportive care
  • Short term disability
  • Food safety
